LAWYER
Nandish Wijetilleke’s passion for family law was born out of his commitment to serve low-income families through legal aid, where he focused on domestic violence and child custody matters. These experiences fueled his dedication to advocating for individuals facing family law issues, especially those lacking resources. Nandish understands the challenges his clients face and believes in empowering them to make informed, meaningful decisions about their children and future. By helping his clients maintain a broader perspective, he guides them toward sustainable resolutions that address their long-term interests.
Throughout his career, Nandish has been particularly proud of cases where he has leveled the playing field for clients up against substantial resources. In one notable case, he advocated for a mother wrongfully accused of abuse due to an opposing party’s manipulation. With skilled advocacy, he successfully challenged false accusations, discrediting expert testimony that had been leveraged against his client.
Nandish’s areas of expertise include domestic violence protection orders, child custody, divorce, and mediation. He strongly advocates for mediated custody agreements, believing they provide more stable, lasting solutions and reduce the need for future modifications. His client-centered approach encourages collaboration while remaining firmly committed to each client’s best interests.
Beyond his practice, Nandish remains dedicated to community service. He provides consultations and advice to Uncompahgre Volunteer Legal Aid (UVLA), where he previously served as director. He continues to participate in virtual monthly clinics, ensuring accessible legal support for families in need.
